Laser tatoo removal

A tattoo is an illustration on the skin, made by injecting ink or pigment that the body is unable to absorb. It remains permanently in the skin.

Tattoos have been around for over 5,000 years as well as the desire to see them disappear.
Regardless of their artistry, tattoos are part of a fashionable trend, an expression of creativity and a way to rebel against certain standards of society. However, their definitive nature can provoke a sense of weariness or cause discomfort in society especially when visible on uncovered parts of the body such as the forearms and hands.

How does laser tattoo removal work?
The Q-Switched laser works by producing very short pulses, which break up these pigments on a microscopic scale, without damaging the skin. The body’s cells then gradually eliminate these particles.

It is the treatment painful?
Laser tattoo removal uses a series of pulses followed by a slight tingling or burning sensation. You can compare this feeling to snapping a rubber band against your skin. An anaesthetic cream can be applied 2 hours before laser treatment.

What can I expect immediately after laser tattoo removal?
Laser tattoo removal may cause whitening of the treated area, an oedema and possible minimal bleeding on the surface of the skin immediately after the procedure.

What should I do after the procedure?
We recommend applying a healing cream during the first few days following the laser session. In some cases, an occlusive dressing with paraffin gauze can be applied for several days in order to accelerate the healing process.

Using a high SPF sunscreen is required during 4 weeks after laser tattoo removal.

How many laser tattoo removal sessions do I need?
It is extremely difficult to determine the number of sessions needed for laser tattoo removal, as it depends on the type of ink used and the way in which the tattoo was done.

3 to 15 sessions are generally necessary for laser tattoo removal, depending on the pigment density, depth and colours used.

How long do I need to wait in between laser tattoo removal sessions?
You should allow at least 6 weeks in between sessions so that the skin can eliminate the broken pigments.

Fees: 60 to 170 € the session
